Plumb-Simple

My Dad has a tool in his workshop that has been in my mind’s-eye all week. A plumb-bob.

This simple device is basically a symmetrical lead weight suspended on a long string and it is used to determine vertical accuracy in carpentry or masonry work. It is a simple instrument that can confirm basic geometry as structures are built or installed; it ensures that key components of architectural support are aligned and true.

That’s exactly what I needed this week: a plumb-bob.

I’ve been building my coaching company and many, many sources of influence are converging in my mind this week. I recently enrolled a jam-packed marketing course with Tad Hargrave, I continue to participate in the expansive TPLC Company Building program, I am being capably coached by a number of mentors and peers and I am deeply listening to my group of friends and family. I am taking it all in and unwittingly I realized I was processing very little of it. Swinging back and forth trying to implement SO many differing opinions and options was creating an oscillating energy that was not helpful to me. It became apparent that I needed to find my own center of gravity, re-align to my own vertical and to honour my own viewpoint.

Only then did things start to fall into place. I chose a new business name. An opportunity to participate in a market-research project emerged. I was able to more clearly define the content on my website and I began to imagine the new pricing structure that I will implement with my clients. When I reoriented myself to how I wanted to BE, I could then decide how to build my world.

I appreciate the information that flowed into my awareness… excellent resources that were well informed. I am also grateful for the wisdom that is beyond my cerebral thinking – the sense of knowing what is right “in my heart” and my ability to “trust my gut”. Combined, I can trust my intuitive inclinations and move forward.

Where do you need to realign your priorities and values? What do you need to do to enhance your vertical strength and integrity?
